Earn Your Wings and Take Flight

Helping you become a legendary aviator.

Welcome to the squadron! My name is Monty! I am a Pilot,  Flight instructor, and US Army Veteran, and I am here to help you earn your wings.

I have wanted to fly my entire life, but it wasn’t until I got out of the army that I thought it was actually possible. I always thought that it was too expensive to fly, or that you had to have some special background to be let into the community.

Well I’m here to formally invite you in. Whether you are interested in making a career out of aviation, you want to become a military pilot, or you just want to check it out as a hobby, the squadron can help you get there.

First of all, I want to give you three free gifts just for joining the squadron. The first is a short eBook full of free resources that you can use for your entire career as a pilot. Second, is a plain-english checklist outlining the requirements to becoming a private pilot, and third is access to my free courses page where you can learn new skills, brush up on old skills, and keep you talons sharp as an aviator. All you have to do is show up.

Once you have your free gifts, let us know what kind of pilot you want to be. Click one of the buttons down below, and get cleared for takeoff.

Helping you become a Legendary Aviator

As a private pilot you will be able to fly your friends and family in small general aviation aircraft just about anywhere in the country. Like a driver’s license, the private pilot certificate is a license to learn. You can collect ratings as you continue your journey and upgrade to a commercial certificate if you decide to turn the best hobby in the world into a career.

I wrote my first book, Skyhawk pilot, to chronicle my journey to earning my private pilot certificate, and in it, I provide a bunch of tips and suggestions to making the most of your training. Our stand alone private ground school prepares you for the knowledge exam, or you can join us for a virtual course with other pilots learning right there along with you.

Alright, so you want to get serious. To become an airline captain and earn over six figures a year, you’ll need to earn your private, instrument, commercial, and CFI ratings and build up your hours to get hired at a regional airline. I recommend becoming a ground instructor early in your career, because that is going to force you to learn the material so well that you can teach it. My book Staying Grounded is a guide if you want to learn more about ground instruction. Start today by checking out our private pilot course, joining our online ground school, or by checking out my book.

You’re not going to be happy unless you’re going mach 2 with your hair on fire, huh? This is the most rigorous route to earning your wings. You’ll need your private and instrument ratings, a college degree, and acceptance into one of the service branches with a pilot slot. Once there, you will be in a highly competitive field in which the difference between flying fighters and flying cargo is how tight you can fly. For this, I recommend starting with the private course, talking to our military advisor, and spending some time learning how to learn as effectively as possible.
